MARTIN ROCHA
Prado Church

The Prado Baptist Church is a Christian community located in Curitiba, near PUCPR University.

The challenge of this project was to update the visual identity of the institution and to organize a communication system that would work for daily demands. Despite the diversity found in the community, some values were kept in mind for the execution of this project: the church is 1) Christ-centered, 2) relational, 3) informal, and 4) welcoming, seeking to be increasingly 5) present in the local urban scene.

The goal of this project was to propose an accessible and daily invitation for new people to get to know Christ.

We started with the image of the cross, the main visual reference related to Christ and that identifies Christians today. Incorporated into the cross is the icon of a heart — it refers to the love given by Jesus to the world, which is the essence of the Christian relationship. The symbol works in the sum of three different pieces, reproducing the biblical notion of the church (body). The speech balloon emerged as an interactive element in relation to the symbol, releasing the text for better adaptation with the image in each specific situation. The grid also came in handy. Low-resolution photos are transformed into beautiful, homogeneous, and well-printed graphics.
