BRANDING

GYCA

Branding, Copywriting, Art Direction, Graphic Design

We’re lucky to have an institution like GYCA, one that cares deeply about the planet’s health—especially when it comes to rising temperatures. This project gave visual form to the brand through the lens of international design—a movement from the first half of the 20th century—evoking a strong, institutional approach. GYCA is an organization that will be engaging in serious discussions and projects with leading global institutions. But it's also shaping the next generation of climate leaders—young people from the Global South who, in line with the NGO’s mission, will rise for the planet.

From this story, the symbol was born: a group of people standing tall before the globe.
Change is collective.

Staying true to the climate cause, the brand also hints at the sun through lines of varying thickness that create a vibrating visual effect (moiré), reminiscent of heat waves.

Beyond the bold visual identity, activism is embedded in the voice. I crafted a tagline and some key messaging to guide the brand’s verbal identity.
“Here we rise” establishes GYCA as a force in forming global leaders.
“Think green, act yellow” echoes the urgency of action—it’s not enough to think green, we must act now.

After all, this might be the century that defines the world’s climate score.

GYCA offers educational programs, a climate blog and forum, communication channels—and much more is yet to come.
That’s why we faced an early challenge: how to structure the brand and all its sub-brands within a smart, visually cohesive system?

The solution emerged from the graphic symbol itself. Through interaction, positioning, and duplication of the globe, we developed a strategic brand hierarchy—one that visually ties back to the main brand while allowing each sub-brand to convey its own unique concept.

EduClima is an award-winning climate education program for young people, focused on learning and transformation through collaborative teaching.
TemperaTrue will serve as an information and discussion channel around climate truth—GYCA as a global observatory.

With more to come, the color system was designed to remain open to the inclusion of new shades, as long as combinations are standardized within each product.

Social media, visual guidelines, custom graphics, website and presentation templates. A project completed in just over two weeks from start to finish—one I truly hope expands to every corner of the globe. Website: gyca.org
